The New Music Industry

I'm cross-posting this everywhere I think is relevant, so many apologies if you end up seeing it a few times!

1. Music downloading, high record prices and new technology in general has changed the music industry. Where do you see it headed?

1.a) If you are a musician, producer, engineer or otherwise involved in the making of music (or would like to be), how do you feel these changes affect you? Are you planning to change your role to keep up with technology?

2. What do you think the role of record producer will be in 10 years? 20?

3. What do you feel is the role of a record label right now? What do you think it will be in 10 years? 20?

4. Do you think the traditional album (as in, a collection of songs, packaged with cover art and liner notes, that you go to the music store and purchase) is facing extinction, or will there always be a market for it?
